Core Subject
Introduction
The goal of the Artistic core subject is to develop a deeper understanding of the essence of EXPERIMENTAL GAME CULTURES. The aim of the “Künstlerisches Hauptfach”/artistic core subject under the guidance of the professor and head of department Experimental Game Cultures is to form, examine and develop new forms of politically relevant art in the field of experimental game cultures.
Content
We aim to develop and coagulate new terminologies, will question introduced mechanics of game and play, to develop relevant art that reflects and mirrors, shapes and transforms the necessities of contemporary societies and a world in times of social and climate change. We aim to introduce game changer games!
Within the collegium the planned master projects will be presented, discussed, deepened, and developed - even tested in prototypes. Public appearances and exhibitions will be on the pathway to strategically place the process of Experimental Game Cultures in art and society.
Based on the Experimental Game Culture overarching theme SHARING: ANT non-human Games a discursive approach on principals of game design, art and intervention will be shaped. Exemplary approaches and proposals are to be developed, researched, and realized in order to advance one's own project work on the Master. The aim is to conceptualize a LUDIC ART & METHOD, art pieces that are signposts to possibilities of new forms of society, politics, and coexistence that can contribute to a positive exchange with the world.
