Printing using the Bambulab A1

Excellent prints❤️

1. Find a 3D Model

You can go to makerworld.com to search for 3D models. There is already an account saved in Firefox, so you can just log in.

Download as:

STL file – normal 3D format or a 3MF file – sometimes has settings already inside

2. Slice the Model

On the PC, the program Bambu Studio is already installed. You use it to prepare the file for printing:

  • Open the STL or 3MF file inside Bambu Studio
  • Change settings if you need (for example print quality or material)
  • Click on “Slice” – this makes the file ready for the printer
  • Then you can send it directly to the printer (if connected) or save it to SD card

See more here:

3. Start the Print

  • Very important: Clean the print plate before printing. Use isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth
  • Check that filament is loaded
  • Start the print on the printer screen or from the Bambu Studio

4. After Printing

  • Let the plate cool down before you take the print off
  • Clean the plate again so it stays in good condition

Printing using the Prusa - obsolete now :-(

For students that have done the 3D printing workshop and signed the usage agreement, feel free to use the 3D Printer via Octoprint (IP is on the printer).

Login with your username and upload the GCode you want to print. Supervise the print to prevent damage to the printer and fires.
